About Dr. Ron

Hello, my name is Dr. Ron Steriti and I repair and restore vintage tube amps and their clones.

I purchased my first tube amp in 1980 from a little guitar shop in Lowell, Mass. It was a Fender Deluxe Reverb. The shop owner said was obsolete. He recommended one of the many solid state models. Forty years later, the Deluxe Reverb is a vintage amp desired and used by many top guitarists.

Years ago I decided to build my own tube guitar amp for fun. By pure chance, one of the best vintage amp techs (Larry Rodgers) happened to live nearby. I've designed and built several guitar amps, each to achieve a certain goal.

My first amp was similar to a Matchless Spitfire. This is one hot amp! I set mine up to sound like a hotrod Marshall. Larry liked it set up as a blues monster.
He showed me how to change the preamp tubes to give a Country twang.

My quest is to achieve fantastic tone. In a vintage amp, that means restoration with correct parts.
In a clone, that means correcting build issues and making it sound like a new version of a vintage amp.

Dr. Steriti received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from UMass Lowell.
Shortly afterward he went to Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and is now a licensed naturopathic physician.
