Quercetin is an important member of a large group of plant compounds called flavonoids, once thought to be vitamins. Quercetin is the ÒsuperstarÓ of the flavonoids

Quercetin works like an antihistamine, treats allergies, prevents heart disease and cancer. Quercetin is a powerful inhibitor of antigen-stimulated histamine release from basophils and mast cell.

Quercetin has also been found to help with:

reduces the formation of leukotrienes
inhibits phospholipase A2

sparing effect on epinephrine (adrenaline)
