Esmolol, Brevibloc Description Esmolol is a selective beta-1 receptor blocker with rapid onset, a very short duration of action, and no significant intrinsic sympathomimetic or membrane stabilizing activity at therapeutic dosages. Action selective beta-blocker Indications Side Effects AV block, cardiac arrest, diaphoresis, dizziness, headache, hypotension, injection site reaction, nausea/vomiting, sinus bradycardia, Drug-Vitamin-Herb Interactions Negative interactions: Calcium Calcium may form unabsorbable complex with atenolol. Take at a different time of day. Coleus forskohlii Coleus forskohlii relaxes blood vessels. Combining Coleus with beta-blockers may have unpredicatable effects on blood pressure. Positive interactions: Chromium Beta-blockers reduce HDL. Chromium can offset the adverse effect. Coenzyme Q10 Beta-blockers (especially propanolol) inhibit the actions of enzymes that contain CoQ10.
