Nystatin, Mycostatin Description Nystatin is a polyene antimycotic drug used primarily for Candida infection (candidiasis). Nystatin is not absorbed from intact skin or mucous membranes and is considered a "clean" drug as it has no proven side effects. Nystatin was isolated from the bacteria Streptomyces noursei in 1950.
