Drug-Vitamin-Herb Interactions


Negative interactions:

Grapefruit juice
Grapefruit juice slows the breakdown of several drugs, including benzodiazepines.

Sedative herbs: Kava, Passionflower, Hops, Ashwagandha, Calendula, Catnip, LadyÕs Slipper, Lemon Balm, Sassafras, Skullcap, and Yerba mansa.
Sedative herbs may cause excess sedation when used with antipsychotic agents.


Positive interactions:

Melatonin
Melatonin may help handle withdrawal symptoms from benzodiazepines.
